We are passionate about the science of medicine and how it helps to solve problems our patients face

The most difficult medical cases are often times the people that are in the most need. Our experience is people with fibromyalgia usually have a difficult history of trying to find answers and solutions to their unique medical problems.

Fibromyalgia: How it Responds to Ketamine

Fibromyalgia affects approximately 8 million people in the United States.   Fibromyalgia patients often report concurrent chronic fatigue, depression, irritable bowel syndrome and chronic headaches. Finding fibromyalgia treatment can be difficult given the nature of the disorder, but it’s gotten much easier for patients at Restorative Health.

Ketamine is one such medication that can help treat fibromyalgia through its mechanism of NMDA receptor inhibition.  There are many NMDA receptors on neurons outside of the brain which help conduct pain stimulus to the brain.  Although ketamine's function inside the brain becomes a very complex topic, its mechanism outside the brain is a popular model that is easy to understand because Ketamine is more or less blocking pain transmission through the spinal cord.

At Restorative Health  we use a multiple-infusion approach to give fibromyalgia patients the best chance at pain remission.

To learn more about how Ketamine is being used to successfully treat patients with various mental health disorders and pain syndromes, contact us at 385-449-0565 or email us at for a phone consultation to discuss how this treatment can benefit you or a loved one.
