What is the difference between natural and synthetic hormones?
Hormones used in Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy have the same molecular structure to those found in the body and are plant based. Synthetic hormones have similar effects to those found in the body but are not molecularly identical to those found in the body.

How Our Program Works
Step 1
Initial evaluation with the medical provider for a comprehensive review of symptoms to determine which labs to order.
Step 2
In office blood draw
Step 3
Review lab results with medical provider and formulate an individualized plan.
Step 4
If appropriate initiate hormone therapy. Prescriptions can be filled via trochees, injections, pills, creams or supplements. This is determined on absorption rates and patient preference.
Step 5
Adjusting hormone support and medications while closely monitoring how patients feel moving forward with unlimited access to the medical provider for the first 12 weeks, additional appointment costs after the first 12 weeks to readjust or add other supportive therapies as necessary.

Properly adjusting hormones is complicated. Our advice to patients seeking hormone balance is to adhere to the scientific method as much as possible; adjust as few variables as possible and make appropriate adjustments based on lab results and patient feedback to properly adjust hormone levels effectively for both short and long term health improvements.

Why do we prefer these health panel tests?
Lab drawn health panels help us identify imbalances whether hormonal, insulin, metabolic, thyroid or essential vitamin deficiency in nature. About a week after your labs are drawn we'll get back the test results, which can then review with your medical provider to determine the source of imbalance and hormonal needs. This process helps more precisely prescribe the appropriate dose.

What is compounding and why is it needed?
"Compounding is the creation of a particular pharmaceutical product to fit a patient's unique needs. Compounding Pharmacists combine and/or process appropriate ingredient(s) utilizing various tools to do this. This may be done for medically necessary reasons, such as changing the form of the medication from a solid pill to a liquid, avoiding a non-essential ingredient the patient is allergic to or obtaining the exact dose needed. What are the different dosage forms used in compounding?
An advantage of compounding is that not only can we dose very precisely, but we can also prepare your medication in a variety of dosage forms. For example, if a pill isn’t working, we can prepare it in a cream. If a child couldn't swallow a pill, we could make a liquid, with your choice of flavors. Other options are troches (lozenges) or tablet triturates that dissolve under the tongue, suppositories, vaginal creams, nasal sprays, and more. Essentially, you tell us the way you prefer to deliver the drug, and our hormone-balancing pharmacy in Salt Lake City will take care of the rest.
